Mighty Waikato Pottery Throwdown | Upcoming schedule changes | Gratitude to volunteers | Marketing for WSP potters selling work
We are still accepting your forms for entering the upcoming free Mighty Waikato Pottery Throwdown that will be held at the studio on 20 August 2-5pm.
Details of how to enter were sent by email to members last week. If you missed the email, or didn't receive it, please let us know. This is a community event for our members and we intend to have a lot of fun. Please join in for an afternoon to remember!

Open Studio: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1-4pm
Friday 19th August: Diploma students are here again so only quick drop-offs and pick-ups.
Thanks to our volunteers
We would like to say thank you to our volunteers. Across August and September, we are going to be an even smaller team in the studio with both Margaret and Larry having time away. Thanks go out to volunteers who have helped keep the studio running smoothly this week: Alex, Yasmin and Emma for helping to keep the kilns running and to David Martin's help in the kiln room this afternoon.
If any experienced kiln loaders have some free time to spare in the coming weeks, please get in touch as your help would be very much appreciated.
Marketing for WSP potters selling work
Are you a potter with an online shop? We often get asked for recommendations of potters selling functional ware, particularly coming up to the holiday period. We thought it would be a good idea to have a list of our makers available on our website. If you have an online shop and would like to be added to our list, please send in your details (WSP members only). We need:
- Your trading name
- link to your website or shop where people can purchase your work
- 5-6 words that let people know what you stock: cups, vases etc.
- Instagram handle if you have one.
