Kia ora koutou
How’s this folks, two newsletters in one week – how lucky are you?! 🤣 Aaand it’s mostly just a visual feast of woodfired and diploma exhibition goodness, double lucky!
Latest Phoenix wood firing
The Phoenix was unloaded last weekend and a bunch of happy potters got to see the pieces that had been hidden within chamber for over a week, while they waited for the kiln to cool. Pics for your viewing pleasure here – taken by Caroline Hamilton. We particularly love the ones Caroline took of each participant holding their favourite pot!
Diploma assessment and exhibition
Our talented Diploma students have now finished their studies for this year, and they displayed an exhibition of their work for assessment purposes on Thursday last week at ArtMakers. Some of us were lucky enough to be able shoot over in between the assessing and take a look at the fabulous array of mahi toi they have produced over the last year.
The exhibition was fleeting, so we took some pics so you can see their fantastic auahatanga.
Congrats to this hard-working team on another year of impressive mahi and dedication to your art.
Last Raku Firing for 2024
Get your Raku on at the last firing of the year, on Saturday the 7th of December.
David Kenny will be firing up the kiln again, so you can come and join in, get involved and get some of that crackly, metallic raku-goodness!
