It’s a newsletter-lite version this week

Kia ora e te whānau

We’ve been getting back to our standard routine here in the studio. The last of the School Holiday Programme pots are coming out of the kilns tomorrow, our Term 3 classes have started, and Diploma is back in session. All is right and well in this corner of the world 😊

Sunday Throwing Taster Class, Term 3B

We’ve got the second instalment of this 4-week class up on our Class Bookings page ready for enrolments. The Term 3A class sold out pretty quickly, so if you’re interested in this one, we recommend getting in fast.

Sunday Wheel Throwing Taster Class, with Sarah Steed
10am – 1pm, 4 weeks, starting Sunday 25th of August
Suitable for absolute beginners. You’ll learn to throw, trim, attach handles and glaze. A great foundation to kick off your wheel-throwing skills.

The Lucy Foundation Coffee Party!

The Lucy Foundation are throwing a Coffee Party here at the Ward Park Arts Centre on Wednesday the 31st July at 10.30am, right outside the Community Men’s Shed.

They are a kiwi charity working with local communities to develop inclusive, ethical and sustainable trade. They work with coffee farmers and disabled people in Pluma Hidalgo in Mexico as well as disabled people in Aotearoa New Zealand. On Wednesday morning at 10.30am  (same time as Play with Clay, just saying…) the foundation will share the story about where the coffee comes from, and hand out coffees to taste. They’ll also bring their special blend coffee bags if people would like to purchase.

Come along and check them out, we reckon it’ll be well worth a look and a sip!
